NRAS Incentive and how it works for Investors

The National Rental Affordability Scheme government incentive is a tax-free annual contribution towards the property of up to $9524. This amounts to nearly $183 per week,, totals over $100,000 within a 10 year period with a likely rise of at least 5% expected in May 2012.

The residential rental market delivers an incredible long-term investment with high yields and significant capital gains. The Government is committed to offering the annual incentive for 10 years, and Investors can expect to benefit from both rental yields and capital gains during that time.

New Residential Dwellings / Housing

New dwellings acquired ‘off the plan’ (before construction commences or during the construction phase) or after construction is complete are normally approved where the dwellings:

  • have not previously been sold (that is, they are purchased from the developer); and
  • have not been occupied for more than 12 months.
